1.Abstract: This paper designs a measuring instrument wh ich can measure addendum circle and dedendum circle diameter of odd_tooth gear s and can define all main parameters of gears.
3.As an example, we take Z_2=60, Z_d=1- 5 and h_a~* = 0.8, 0.7, 0.6, and caculate the theoretical and the designed minimum working pressure angles respectively, the corresponding modification coefficients can thus be obtained.

5.Accordingly,the least teeth number without undercutting is also decided only by the design pressure angle of the gear,without any relation to the coefficient of addendum height of the gear.
6.Finally,these changes lead to the bald degree of ears reduced,the grain number and weight per ear increased,and grain output per mu raised.
7.The results were shown as follows: "Tianda-2116" could accelerate its jointing and heading, raise its drought resistance in the flowering stage, increase plant height, ear-position height, number of kernels per ear and thousand kernel weight, and reduce the bald rate.
