4.The Police and the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce jointly administer the Good Citizen Award and the Good Citizen of the Year Award Schemes. These were introduced in 1972 and 1984 respectively and continue to be effective vehicles for gaining and recognising public support in the fight against crime.
5.To commend teachers for their devotion to the teaching profession and to recognise the achievements made by schools, the Quality Education Fund plans to launch an award scheme for outstanding teachers and schools. To promote the culture of quality education, teachers and schoolmasters with outstanding performance and schools with great achievements will be shortlisted for commendation.
