1.And Israel was greatly impoverished because of Midian. And the children of Israel cried out to Jehovah.
2.Thus was Midian subdued before the children of Israel, so that they lifted up their heads no more.
3.So Israel was brought very low because of Midian, and the sons of Israel cried to the Lord.
4.The men of Israel were summoned from Naphtali and Asher and all Manasseh, and they pursued Midian.
5.But the Lord said to him, "Surely I will be with you, and you shall defeat Midian as one man."
7.They pursued the Midianites and brought the heads of Oreb and Zeeb to Gideon, who was by the Jordan.
8.[bbe] And they made war on Midian, as the Lord gave orders to Moses; and they put to death every male.
9.For my father fought for you and risked his life, and he delivered you from the hand of Midian.
10.And they warred against Midian, just as Jehovah had commanded Moses; and they killed every male.
