颁授大学
1.In 1983, it was incorporated through legislation as a tertiary institution capable of offering degree programmes, and became fully government-funded.
2.The Hong Kong Council for Academic Accreditation validates courses and programmes offered by Hong Kong's non-university, degree-awarding institutions.
3.One of its major roles is to review the non-university degree-awarding institutions of Hong Kong and validate the individual programmes of those who have not acquired self-accreditation status to ensure that the degrees offered meet internationally-recognised standards.
4.It became a publicly funded post-secondary college in 1979 and was upgraded to a degree-awarding institution in 1992. In 1999, Lingnan College was retitled Lingnan University on commencement of its new ordinance.
5.Two other degree-awarding tertiary institutions are not funded by the UGC. They are the publicly-funded Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and the self-financing Open University of Hong Kong.
6.Mr Pro-Chancellor, I have the honor to presentto you, on behalf of the University, Dr Lee Shau Kee, global businessleader, real property baron and philanthropist, for the degree ofDoctor of Business Administration honoris causa.

8.The University announced the conferment of the title of Emeritus Professor upon Professor Fang Kaitai, Chair Professor of the Mathematics Department, in recognition of his distinguished scholarship in the international academic arena, effective 1 February 2006.
