1.This paper proposes a method for determining the optimum solution of the parameters A, b, n in the storm intensity formulae for single reiurn period i=- A/(t+ b)n, and of the parameters c, d, b, n for collective return periods i = CPd/(t+b)n or i = C(1+d logP)/(t+ b)n, under various fitting criteria usually used .
