Fenske-Underwood equation
1.The design strategies proposed were applied to design the distillation column for ideal and non-ideal multicomponent systems and the result shows that the stage composition lines method is better than Fenske-Underwood shortcut method and conforms to the simulation results of Aspen plus.
2.A shortcut design using the Fenske Underwood Gilliland(FUG) equations of continuous distillation design is developed based on the reasonable approximation that the batch distillation column can be considered as a continuous distillation column with changing feed The method is a powerful and computationally fast tool that can be used in batch vacuum distillation process design
