4.The FAA requires that an ARFF fire fighter have a monthly training regiment that consist of airport familiarization, aircraft familiarization, rescue and fire fighting personnel safety, emergency communications systems on the airport, use and training of specialized apparatus and appliances required to do their job, application of the types of extinguishing agents required to suppress aircraft fires, emergency aircraft evacuation assistance, fire operation, adapting and using structural rescue and fire fighting equipment for aircraft rescue and fire fighting, aircraft cargo hazards, and familiarization with fire fighters duties under the airport emergency plan.
