Multicast backbone
1.: This paper first introduces the concepts associated with multicast backbone(Mbone)and multicast,then discusses the heterogeneity of the Internet and Mbone. Based on the above discussion,how to transmit efficiently real-time multimedia data is discussed over the heterogeneous environment. Finally,two different methods of handling the heterogeneity are compared.
4.IP/DWDM(dense wavelength division multiplexing) optical Internet is one of the mainstream networking techniques as backbone for NGI(next generation Internet), and how to improve its fault-tolerance capability and QoS multicast provision becomes critical. In this respect,the fault-tolerant QoS multicast routing is one of the effective solutions.
