3.The backward-wave oscillator (BWO) is one of the promising devices that can produce high-power microwaves and is intensively investigated because of its merits such as compact structure, high efficiency and good stability.
4.In this paper,a detail overview of the study of relativisitc backward ware oscillator over the world is shown and the recent achivements,theories and experiments in the R-BWO field are reported. Some suggestions to develop high -power relativistic backward wave oscillators are also given in the paper.
5.With a intermediate power density, the efficiency of energy conversion to forward stimulated Raman scattering approached 38%. The backward Stokes stimulated emission was observed, and the backward wave intensity was about 80% of the forward scattering intensity. The gain of the forward scattering wave was measured and was about 2.5 × 10-3cm/ MW, the spatial distribution and the beam divergence of the forward and backward waves were measured.
6.Certain progresses have also been made on closing or stopping the "five kinds of small plants" including small refinery, small glasswork, small cement plant, small thermal power plant, small iron and steel plant, which were commonly characterized by backward technology, wasting energy, inferior quality, environmental pollution and incompliant with safe production conditions.
