1.Fromthe 2nd week on,whole blood glutathione peroxidase activities in manganes-ese-treated rats were below the control. At the 5th week,glutathione pero-xidase activities in blood and myocardium were reduced by 25.36%(P<0.001and 20.83%(P<0.001)respectively.It is indicated that manganese influen-ces selenium metabolism,thereby,it inhibits glutathione peroxidase activityindirectly.
