bottom layout
1.This paper presents an approach to perceptually extract multi-oriented text lines from online handwriting. The approach adopts a bottom-up strategy.By the approach, strokes are first merged into blocks analogous to words, then a link model is constructed upon these blocks. Finally, the optimal text line layout is found out by a branch-bound search on the link model. The experimental results show that the approach is effective and also available to extract curved text lines.
2.Through comparison of various alternatives, the optimal alternative in terms of layout of flood releasing structures is recommended, which has 7 surface sluices in the central portion of the dam, 2 ski jump spillways on both banks and 2 bottom outlets near both banks. When flood frequency ?P≤5%? ,the 2 bottom outlets will be used in combination with the surface sluices and ski jump spillways to release flood.
3.A brief introduction to scientific research in the Three Gorges Project(TGP) and the applications of research achievements is given, which include treatment of newly slited layer on the foundation of the first stage earth-rock cofferdam, dumping bottom technique of river closure in deep water, construction of cut-off walls in the second stage earth-rock cofferdams,3-D computer simulation of river closure, concrete casting alternatives and selection of major construction equipment for the second stage construction optimization of durability of raw materials of concrete, deep sliding resistance and stability of the intake dam section, the section of the intake of the power station, the intake penstock of the power station, layout and hydraulics problems of shiplocks, stability of high slopes of shiplocks, and optimization of the system structural anchor bars to reduce the risk of cracking in the concrete wall and 700MW turbine generator units.
