4.The process for separating cerium() from the rare earth solution consisting of Ca2+Fe3+F-PO3-4Th4+Mn4+Al3+ through extracting with 2-ethyl hexyl 2-ethyl hexyl phosphonic acid in one step was investigated on industrialscale. Cerium oxide (CeO2/REO9990%) and ceriumless rare earth carbonate (CeO2/REO3%) was obtained simultaneously.
5.In the sodium hydride and ammonia system,the nanostructure cerium-oxide particles,with wider acromion and common shoulder peak of CeO_2 and Ce_2O_3 and with the mean particle size of 5~15nm and a specific surface area of 128.52m~2/g,have been obtained at temperature of 120℃ and reaction time of 24h.
7.It is emphasized that cerium group-Al, Yttrium group-Al, Lanthanum rich RE-Al, Yttrium rich RE-Al, La-Al, Ce-Al, Nd-Al, Y-Al series of alloys has been prepared by molten salt electrolysis at lower temperature (690-750℃),and the basic research, development and new technologies with relation to add rare earth oxide, oxychloride or carbonate into commercial aluminium electrowinning cell for preparing RE-Al alloy has been commended.
