2.At the end of the year, the department had an establishment of 3687 disciplined staff and 1858 civilianstaff, compared with 3586 and 1959 in 1996 respectively.
3.Since 1992, more than 210 UN civilianstaff have been killed as a result of malicious acts and some 265 taken hostage while serving in UN operations worldwide, including five civilianstaff members who lost their lives in 2001.
5.Likewise, 272 general grade, and 188 departmental grade civilianstaff left the Force through various means such as retirement, transfer to other government departments, termination of their service, completion of contract or dismissal.
6.Psychological services, including professional counselling and education, were provided to Police officers, civilianstaff and their immediate family members to help them cope with the high level of stress associated with Police work and in events of personal or emotional difficulties.
