1.Pain behavior was observed. By using immunofluorescence histochemistry, expressions of glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) and OX42, which are makers for astrocyte and microglia, respectively, in dorsal commissural nucleus (DCN) was detected.

3.The result showed that the Fos-like im-munoreactive (Fos-LI) neurons were mainly distributed in the commissural subnucleus, medial subnucleus and peridorsal region of the nucleus of the solitary tract, indicating that the nucleus of solitary tract was the direct reactive region of primary afferent impulse of the visceral noxious stimulation information.
