1.In this article, the researcher makes a contrastive study of English and Tibetan consonant systems from the point of view about contrastive linguistics(especially phonology) and tries to offer some practicable methods in consonant study of those whose mother tongue is Tibetan.

Ten years later, another American linguist Robert Lado wrote Linguistics across Culture and put the theory of contrastive analysis into practice.
