copolymer rubber
.In order to further improve the toughness of PP/EPT blend and to enhance the stability of the dispersed rubber phase, a diblock copolymer composed of PP and ethylene-propylene rubber blocks (PP-EPR) was added into the blend, as it is considered that "forced compatibility" of the two components will be effected through the two chemically bonded blocks, while two-phase structure still remains.
.Morphology of graft copolymer EPE-g-PS, EP copolymer (EPR) with polystyrene (PS) grafts, prepared through maeromer copolymerization, has been studied by transmission electron microscopy(TEM). Results show that the copolymer consists of two-phases with PS microdomains several hundred A in size dispersed in EPR rubber matrix.
.Phase contrast micro-observation and infrared analysis were carried out to study the multi-phase structure of ACS resins (acrylonitrile (AN)-chlorinated polyethylene (CPE)-styrene (St) resins), it was shown that dispersing situations of CPE rubber in ACS resins were of “Seaisland”structure, where CPE-g-AS graft copolymer formed and existed as an interfacial solubilizer between dispered rubber (CPE) and continuous plastics (AS) phase.
.The varnish for rubber goods was prepared using SBS-acrylic acid (AA) graft copolymer with the graft ratio more than 2-61%. When it was painted on the surface of rubber goods such as boots, it could dry up in 3 min at ambient temperature without curing, the SBS-g-AA coating layer was superior in properties to the cured coating layer formed by SBS varnish .
