1.Overseeing the implementation of the Sex Discrimination Ordinance, the Disability Discrimination Ordinance and the Family Status Discrimination Ordinance, the commission works towards the elimination of discrimination on the grounds of gender, disability and family status and promotes equality of opportunities between women and men, between persons with and without a disability and irrespective of family status.
3.The Equal Opportunities Commission continues to oversee the three anti-discrimination ordinances — the Sex Discrimination Ordinance (Cap.480), the Disability Discrimination Ordinance (Cap.487), and the Family Status Discrimination Ordinance (Cap.527).
4.The commission is tasked to oversee the implementation of the Sex Discrimination Ordinance, the Disability Discrimination Ordinance and the Family Status Discrimination Ordinance. The functions of the commission include handling complaints, encouraging conciliation between parties in dispute, providing assistance to aggrieved persons, and undertaking public education and research programmes to promote equal opportunities in the community.
5.Objective: The dissertation aims to develop a mothod for evaluating the burden of disease (BOD) for urban residents in Chongqing, using disability-adjusted life years (DALY), an indicator presented recently, and evaluate their health status from different aspects with several indicators, and provide scientific guide for urban dweller’s diseases prevention and treatment, and provide reference for reasonable application of these indicators through comparing the new and old indicators.
6.DALE is a general term for health expectancy that estimates equivalent years of good health status. Sullivan method is applied to compute DALE value using data from country life table and severity-weighted disability prevalence.
