1.The difference in etch rates of domains with distinctorientations gives rise to topographical contrast which can be used to identify thedomain configuration. A SEM micrograph of 90° a-c domain configuration inthe grain ahead of a crack tip is obtained.
2.By using the eigenfunction expansion technique, a one-dimension finite element formulation is then developed to determine the eigensolutions to the 2D heat conduction problem at the crack tip, which discretizes the sectorial domain circumferenially.
