4.Abstract: Parabolic and hyperbolic models were used to investigate the heat conduction in finite thickness materials separately.Theoretical and calculating results indicate that the temperature profile has great difference for different heat conduction models,especially when hyperbolic model is used,and there is unconventional phenomena of over-heat or over-cold in materials.It is very important for temperature control during biological heat transfer or laser process.

7.Deformation of ten lathe bed models of same shape and overall size but differing in wall thickness acting under force are calculated with finite element method. The influences of wall thickness and position of opening are analysed on the effect of machine rigidity, and there achieves the proper wall thickness and optimal position of opening.
8.Introduces some anti-seepage high embankment dams in the world with bitumen concrete inclined core wall, and analyzes, taking the existing Maopingxi embankment dam as an example, the effect of slope thereof on the stress and deformation of the wall by non-linear adhesive elastic finite element calculation changing the type and thickness of the core wall.
