7.In this paper, the characteristics of tidal current distribution in Zhapu section of Hangzhou Bay are analyzed and discussed, using the synchronous observed tidal current data obtained from 8 stations of Zhapu section during September, 2000. The results show that in the section, two current cores with a greater speed occur at flood race, the current speed in the southern part is greater than that in the northern part, and the flood current speed is greater than the ebb current speed.
