inferior colliculus
.STUDIES ON MONOAMINE OXIDASE-B(MAO-B) OF INFERIOR COLLICULUS AND PONS IN RAT
.THE NON-AUDITORIAL AFFERENTS OF THE INFERIOR COLLICULUS IN THE RAT——WGA-HRP METHOD
.Expression of Neurotrophins and the Receptors in the Cochleas and Inferior Colliculus in the Aged Rats
.The afferent fibrous origins of inferior colliculus from brain(out of midbrain)have been studied by using a retrograde tracing technique. After FG was injected into left inferior colliculus in rats,FG retrogradely labelled-cells were found in the following nuclei:bilateral inferior olive nucleus (IOM)and lateral superior olive nucleus(LSO);
.and in the following nuclei of bothsides:deep mesencephalic nucleus(dpM),central gray(CG),the external nuleus of the infe-rior colliculus(ICX),the dorsal nucleus ofthe inferior colliculus(ICD),the dorsal nucleus ofthe lateral lemniscus,Saglums.
.The studies performed have shown that neurotransmitters, such as y -aminobutyric acid (GABA), acetylcholine (Ach), glutamic acid (Glu), glycine (Gly), and 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) play a key role in processing of sound signal in inferior colliculus (IC).
.The results showed that the region surrounding the nucleus ovoidalis (Ov), which we term the Ov shell, received two afferent projections. The first afferent projection was distributed along the interface zone of nucleus mesencephalicus lateralis, pars dorsalis (MLd) and nucleus intercollicularis (ICo), the medial margin of the inferior colliculus (ICM).
.Objective To investigate the expression of AMPA receptor subunit proteins GluR2/3 in the postnatal rat inferior colliculus (IC),and the relationship with the auditory brainstem response(ABR). Methods The thresholds of ABR of different age SD rats were recorded respectively,and the expression of GluR2/3 in IC was detected with FITC-immunocytochemistry.
