metabolizable energy
.The metabolizable energy requirements (MEm) and net energy requirements (NEm) of beef cattle were 569.50 and 398.68 KJ/kgW~(0.75)·d, the requirements of metabolizable energy (ME) and net energy (NE) for gain were 22400 and 11490 KJ/kg respectively.
.Apparent metabolizable energy values of DTMⅠ and DTCⅡ were 4.88MJ/kg and 6.29MJ/kg,and their true metabolizable energy values were 5.53MJ/kg and 6.94MJ/kg,respectively.

.At forty-three days of age,broilers(males and females)raised at three different temperatures(8℃,24℃,30~32℃)were force-fed two feedstuffs(maize and soybean meal(SBM))with″TME″method to determine the apparent amino acid availability,the apparent metabolizable energy(AME),apparent metabolizable energy with a nitrogen correction(AMEn) and other indices relative to nitrogen and energy metabolism.
.The acetone-treated ALM(AALM) did not differ significantly from ALM in proximate composition, metabolizable energy and amino acid composition except for acridity.
.Twelve fat-rump sheep was divided randomly into 3 groups which consist of 4 each,and fed with 3 levels of metabolizable energy(120,100 and 80% of recomended content of NRC(1978)).
.Nine three month old little?fat?tail sheep were randomly divided into 3 groups for gas and energy metabolism trial?In each group there were one wether hogg and two ewes lambs?The trial showed when the diatary metabolizable energy concentration was between 2300 to 2700 kcal/kgDM and the total metabolizable energy intake was between 2600 to 4800 kcal/d,the amount of CH?4 gas output was 24~33L/d and the CH?4 energy loss was 220~310kcal/d,the ratio of methane to total energy intake were 6%~9%,The methane concentration in exhaled gas was 0?10%~0?17%?The regression equations of CH?4 and total energy intake were as follows:in period 3~5months:CH?4(L/d)=8?7106+0?0052x;
