1.The microtopography and composition of V_2O_5TiO_2/α-Al_2O_3 catalysts before and after selective oxidation of hydrocarbons were investigated using scanning electron microscope(SEM)and energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS). It is observed that after prolonged heating of the catalysts at the hotpoint region in the reactor, the sodium ions in the adhesive used for the preparation of the carrier migrated to the catalyst surface and reacted with the active componet forming needles ofsodium vanadate, and thus affecting the catalyst performance.
