4.Thornthwaite′s method on calculating PE and climatic classificationhas been applied on computing data from 671 climatological observationstations in China. A geographic regression model of potential evapotran-spiration is resulted as APE=2037. 98-18. 8308LAT-4.5801 LONG-0.157861ALT. The resulted APE and moisture index, Im are closely cor-related with the major vegetation types and their distribution pattern inChina.
6.The Study on germination characteristics of Lagerstroemia indica CV.Petite Pinkie seeds was carried out,which might be affected by four factors including temperature,lighting period,soil moisture and the value of pH. The conclusion showed that they could germinate under the wider content of soil moisture while the Index of seed vigour were the highest from 40% to 60% than other moisture conditions.
7.According to the concept of soil-moisture-balance in Palmer-drought-model,daily drought index(DDI) is defined by available water content(AWC) below level soil. AWC was simulated day by day using daily data of temperature and rainfall.
9.?Based on the experimental data of evapotranspiration in the field, considering the meteorological conditions, cotton biological properties and soil moisture state, a calculation model for actual evapotranspiration of cotton field is developed by means of the Priestley?Taylor model, cotton leaf area index and relative effective soil moisture. The routine meteorological and agrometeorological data would be only needed to calculate the evapotranspiration by using the model, and there is a good precision. It can be used in arid area in China easily.
