4.It is possible that the teleconnection between the intensity of the midlatitudional westerlies over the NE Pacific a the SST of the equatorial Pacific is achieved through the northward transfer of angular momentum and heat flux by the Hadley circulation at lower latitudes over the western Pacific, instead of over the eastern Pacific.
5.(2) According to the research results of Dally and Osiecki, the stresses duo to rollers in breaking waves are added to the momentum equations,and the onshore mass flux caused by waves (Stokes drift)and rollers are considered in the calculation formulae of radiation stress, to make the momentum equations and radiation stress more reasonable in the surf-wine;
8.A detailed analysis on the characteristics of the solution of the void fraction matched model for the slug-to-annular flow pattern transition at microgravity condition, which is based upon the drift-flux raletionship of slug flow and the momentum balance relationship of smooth annular flow, is presented.
9.The results show that this model can obtain a reasonable simula ting for the diurnal variations of heat balance, soil volumetric water content, re sistance of vegetation evaporation, flux of surface moisture, and profiles of tu rbulent exchange coefficient, turbulent momentum, potential temperature, and hum idity mixing ratio.
