1.A theory of compensating atmospheric turbulence by optical phase conjugation is developed basing on the transmission theory of monochromatic scalar wave through atmosphere and the first Born approximation. It is shown, under the conditions of the nonabsorbing atmosphere and a infinite phase conjugate mirror, that atmospheric turbulence can be corrected thoroughly.
