prolificacy
.Identification and Genetic Research on Genes Related to Prolificacy of Little-tailed Han Sheep
.Bone morphogenetic protein 15(BMP15) gene which controls the fecundity of Belclare ewes and Cambridge ewes was studied as a candidate gene on the prolificacy of Jining Grey goats.
.Data set of 1261 records of litter size, lamb survival, fertility, pregnancy maintenance and prolificacy from 668 Corriedale ewes and 1188 birth weight records of lambs were used to estimate genetic parameters.
.Margaret Eleanor Atwood (1939- ) is a prestigious contemporary Canadian woman writer, poet, and critic with international reputation and she is famous for her prolificacy and experimental techniques.
.The studies on synchrony of differentiation, silking and kernel bearing between apical and sub-apical ear in forage maize were conducted in the cold upland of north-west Hebei province, where the maize prolificacy is enhanced.
.The results show that both V31D mutation in Inverdale ewes and Q23Ter mutation in Hanna ewes of BMP15 gene do not exist in Small Tail Han sheep, Hu sheep, Suffolk sheep and Dorset sheep, and the mutation with significant effect on fecundity of Inverdale ewes and Hanna ewes has no significant effect on prolificacy of both Small Tail Han sheep and Hu sheep.
.Bone morphogenetic protein receptor IA(BMPR-IA) gene was studied as a candidate gene for the prolificacy of sheep. Single nucleotide polymorphism of BMPR-IA gene was detected in both high fecundity breeds(Small Tailed Han sheep and Hu sheep) and low fecundity breeds(Dorset sheep,Texel sheep and German Mutton Merino sheep) by PCR-SSCP.
.Retinol binding protein 4(RBP4)gene was studied as a candidate gene on the prolificacy of Small Tailed Han sheep. The single nucleotide polymorphism of RBP4 gene in both high fecundity sheep breeds(Small Tailed Han sheep,Hu sheep) and low fecundity sheep breeds(Dorset sheep,Suffolk sheep) was analyzed by PCR-SSCP.
.The prolactin (PRL) gene was studied as a candidate gene for the prolificacy of Small Tail Han sheep. Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of exon 1 to exon 5 of PRL gene were detected in high fecundity breeds (Small Tail Han and Hu sheep) and low fecundity breeds (Dorset, Texel and Corriedale sheep) with five pairs of primers by PCR-SSCP.
