5.The intake rate and digestibility of sainfoin hay fed to Gansu alpine fine wool sheep were studied withall feces collecting method. The results showed that the intake rate of dry matter was 95.32%,Thedigestibility of dry matter,organic matter,crude fibre,nitrogen—free extract and crude protein was62.28%,65.70%,55.68%,69.83% and 69.7%,respectively. These suggested that sainfoin hay is ahigh quality forage for sheep production.

7.It is concluded that legume grasses, such as Baoding No. 1, Soviet Uninn No. 1,Leicious alfalfa, South-Shanxi alfalfa, Peru alfalfa, Sainfoin, gramineous grass such as Dukangbrome, pasture brome, linken awnless brome, and over 10 species composite grass are suitable toestablish grass land at Fushan experiment site as dry farming area.
