speech perception
.Hearing aid and language training are very important to the outcome of speech perception and speech production after cochlear implantation.
.The powers of expectancy are even more obvious in higher level processing, such as speech perception.
.Result:The unaided hearing level (UHL), Speech perception threshed (SPT), speech recognition threshed (SRT),speech recognition score (SRS) and aided hearing level (AHL) have notable influence on the effect of hearing aid fitting . The most comfortable level(MCL), age, education period, hearing loss duration and aided duration also have some influence on the results.
.METHODS:Thirty two patients with moderate to severe sensorineural deafness were chosen and their hearing level(HL),speech perception threshed(SPT),speech recognition threshed(SRT),and so on were measured before hearing aid,and then they were fit with hearing aids according to the NAL prescriptive formula of hearing aids fitting and measured the HL,SPT,SRT after fitting in their preferred listening level.
.Methods of Approach to Study of Speech and Language: Speech Production, Acoustics, Perception, Segments and Features, Phonology, Syntax.
.the branch of acoustics concerned with speech processes including its production and perception and acoustic analysis.
.The psychological process of listening proceeds as follows :Firstly ,the listener gets a perception of words , sentences and discourse segments by listening them to form an acoustic representation; Then the listener gets a short-term memory by decoding the words, the sentences and the discourse segments according to his previous experiences of speech learning.
.On the other hand, when a humorous dialogue, sung or spoken, is played back as an audio-recording, the listener can make use of his/her perception of hearing to appreciate the lines as interpreted by the singer/ speaker, with full access to acoustic properties, including pronunciation, pitch variations, shifts in speech tempo, modulation in loudness, and so forth.
