tone perception
.RIGHT EAR ADVANTAGE FOR MANDARIN TONE PERCEPTION AND ITS MECHANISM: A DICHOTIC LISTENING STUDY
.Objective To evaluate the effects of stimulation rate on cantonese tone perception performance against abackground noise by cantonese-speaking cochlear implant users.
.When both the signal and the background sound were pure tone of the same frequency, the thresholds of signal perception in the presence of weak background sound (0-5 db above threshold) were about 8 db lower, in average, than when the background sound was absent.
.It is shown that,if the scanning resolution meets the recommendation by CCITT on G_3 and G_4 facsimile apparatus, then the visual-perception effect of the two-level rendition by comparison with the Bayer ma-trix is almost the same as that of the original half-tone pictures.
