wear loss
1.C/C composites by resin or pitch impregnation after CVD with SL have unstable friction and wear properties and higher wear loss owing to the thin and discontinuous friction film, and the wear mechanisms are also the falling off of part friction film and abrasion wear and larger oxidation wear loss.
4.Their structure and element concentration were analyzed by X-ray Diffraction (XRD) and Energy Dispersion Spectrometer (EDS) respectively. The wear loss had been determined by means of laser confocal scanning microscopy (LCSM), and the wear scar were observed by optical microscope (OM) and scanning electron microscope (SEM).
8.Compared with the laser clad monolithic Al2O3 ceramic coatings, laser clad NiO/Al2O3 self-lubricating composite coatings have excellent wear resistance and low friction coefficient under room-temperature dry sliding, although the hardness of the latter is much lower than that of the former. The optimum content of NiO self-lubricant in the composite coatings in terms of friction coefficient and wear weight loss is approximately 40wt.%.
9.On the condition of high speed and high load, the worn surface of PAM1/nylon 6 composites was nearly melted and formed comparative uniform transfer on the surface of steel, which accounted for the rather low wear mass loss. The infrared analysis showed that the a small quantity of transition of crystal form from α into γ of nylon and its composites happened during the friction because of the high temperature and strong sheering strength.
